NEW BUSINESS

6. Discuss and take action to approve the Communications, Dispatchers, Records - UPSEU Contract effective July 1, 2017 - June 30, 2021. 

7. Discuss and take action to approve the following Resolution: 

RESOLVED:
The Board of Selectmen, at a duly authorized meeting held on October 10, 2017, hereby approve, confirm and ratify the amendment and restatement of the Retirement Plan for the Employees of the Town of Madison, Connecticut (“Plan”) and authorize its submission to a vote of the electorate, at a Town meeting as prescribed by the Charter.

8. Discuss and take action to call a Special Town Meeting on Monday, October 23, 2017 in Town Campus Room A to approve the amendment and restatement of the Retirement Plan for the Employees of the Town of Madison, Connecticut. 

9. Discuss and take action on the appointment of Tim Lunn as a per diem Fire Investigator at a rate of $26.41 per hour, located within the Fire Marshal's Office. The position is exempt.  

10. Discuss and take action to approve the following Resolution: 

RESOLVED, that the Town of Madison may enter into with and deliver to the State of Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security any and all documents which it deems to be necessary or appropriate; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, that Thomas J. Banisch, as First Selectman of the Town of Madison, is authorized and directed to execute and deliver any and all documents on behalf of the Town of Madison and to do and perform all acts and things which he/she deems to be necessary or appropriate to carry out the terms of such documents, including, but not limited to, executing and delivering all agreements and documents contemplated by such documents.

11. Discuss and take action to approve the application for a matching grant from the Emergency Management Department to replace the Town Emergency Generator. The 25% match from the Town is for an amount not to exceed $37,500. 

12. Discuss and take action on approve the donation of the Strong Field Plaza. 

13. Discuss and take action to accept a donation from Ric Duques in the amount of $22,212 to hire Christensen Landscape to perform the native species removal and planting project at West Wharf. 

14. Discuss and take action to approve a Proclamation honoring Jack and Laurie Heflin. 

15. Discuss and take action to approve a Proclamation honoring Joe Oslander.  

16. Discuss and take action to approve a Proclamation honoring Donald Rankin. 

17. Tax abatements / refunds. 

18. Citizens comments. 

19. Liaison Reports/Selectmen Comments. 

20. Executive Session: 

a. Town Campus Building Security.
