LEGAL NOTICE
TOWN OF MADISON
PUBLIC HEARING

The legal voters of the Town of Madison are hereby warned and notified that the Board of Selectmen will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 7 p.m. (prior to Board of Selectmen Meeting at 7:30 p.m.) in Room A - Town Campus for the purpose of receiving public comment, opposition and support for amendment to ordinance:

Sec. 20-10. Property tax relief; owner's tax relief program for certain elderly and/or disabled homeowners.

(4) Type of tax relief program

a. 2. Qualifying residents of five (5) or more consecutive years of home ownership in Madison will be eligible for tax relief according to the following schedule:

Tax Relief	Income
$950.00**	$30,000.00 and under*
$700.00**	$30,000.01 - $40,000.00*
$450.00**	$40,000.01 - $50,000.00*

* Adjusted for inflation as defined by the C.P.I. beginning January 1, 2006, based on a base date of January 26, 2004. The Director of Town Services will adjust the income guidelines annually.

** Adjusted for inflation as defined by the C.P.I. beginning January 1, 2013. The Director of Town Services will adjust the tax relief benefit amount annually
