Knit Hat Donation
These beautiful hats were knit and donated by Donna Mesgoda of Madison to be distributed through the Madison Police Department are always a huge hit! The last group of her knit hats was given to the children who received the toys at Christmas that had been collected by the Police Department.
The newest group of 25 hats will be put into a storage bag already containing an afghan and teddy bear; those bags are in each trunk of our patrol and supervisor vehicles. Officers, when met with circumstances involving a child in a stressful situation due to a car accident, an incident at their home or anything else that would be unsettling to a youngster, offer this ‘bag of comfort’ which will now also include a warm knit hat.
All the afghans are knit and crocheted by residents of the Hearth at Tuxis Pond, The Gables in Guilford and members of the Women’s Club of Madison who donate them annually to the Police Department.

Mrs. Perry's Third Grade Class at Ryerson School presented the toys collected by all the school children for the Madison Police Department's annual Toy Fund. The toys were presented to Officer Jeremy Yorke, Officer Rob Zeidenberg and Sgt. Kimberly Lauria on Friday, December 13th.
