Prescription Medication Disposal

The Madison Police Department is pleased to participate with the Madison Alcohol and Drug Education Coalition (MADE) and the Drug Free Communities Grant, to provide a MedReturn Collection Unit to collect unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

The box is in the lobby of the Police Department under its supervision to provide a safe means of disposal for unwanted prescription medications.

 

Items not acceptable for disposal are: thermometers; hydrogen peroxide; inhalers; aerosol cans; needles (sharps); medications from businesses or clinics; ointments, lotions or liquids.
