Discuss and take action on calling a Public Hearing on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 7 p.m., prior to the Board of Selectmen Meeting - Room A - Town Campus, for the purpose of receiving public comment, opposition and support for modifications to the following ordinances: Chapter 11 - Licenses and Business Regulations Article III. - Peddlers* Sec. 11-53. Penalty Article IV - Solicitors* Sec. 11-77. Penalty Sec. 11-78. Promulgation of rules Chapter 13 - Offenses and Miscellaneous Provisions Sec. 13-3. Littering highways Chapter 14 - Parks and Recreation Sec. 14.52. Properties designated as public park and beach facilities Sec. 14-54. Activities requiring permits Sec. 14-55. Prohibited activities Chapter 16 - Police Sec. 16-3. Subsistence allowance for police personnel
  2. Discuss and take action on clarifying Senior Tax Relief Mission Statement.

  5. Discuss and take action on hiring Ms. Jan Melnik for the position of PT Board Recording Secretary for the Planning and Zoning Commission. $16.37/hour - retroactive to August 19, 2010. (replacement; no budgetary impact)
  6. Discuss and take action on job description for Executive Assistant to the Chief of Police.
  7. Discuss and take action on promotion of Christie Hodge to the position of Executive Assistant to the Chief of Police. $55,127.94/annum - retroactive to July 1, 2010. (within approved budget)
  8. Discuss and take action on request from Health Department to accept Public Health Emergency Preparedness Grant in the amount of $21,223 from the State of Connecticut. This grant was received for the last several years in similar amounts.
  9. Discuss and take action on recommendation from the Republican Town Committee to appoint the following: Joseph Bunovsky Jr. - Economic Development Committee - to fill a vacancy for a term to expire 1/1/2014 David Newton - Alternate Member/Shellfish Commission - to fill a vacancy to expire 1/1/2013
