Dear Taxpayer,

Your tax bills for the Grand List of October 1, 2006 are due and payable July 1, 2007.

The 2007 – 2008 Fiscal Year Budget for the Town of Madison estimates that $2,248,245 will be received from the State of Connecticut for various state-financed programs. Without this assistance, your 2007 – 2008 Fiscal Year property rate would be 24.27 mills instead of 23.35 mills. State Law Section 12-130 requires this statement.

  • If you have recently sold your property, please be sure there is an exchange of the tax bill between the seller and buyer.
  • If a bank or mortgage company pays the real estate taxes for you, promptly send the bill to them.
  • If a motor vehicle has been sold and not replaced, please contact the Assessor at 203-245-5652.
  • If you recently moved out of state and you send a copy of the new vehicle registration along with the receipt for turning in the Connecticut registration, you will receive a tax adjustment. Please contact the Assessor with any questions.
  • Motor Vehicle taxes unpaid after August 1, 2007 will be reported to the Motor Vehicle Department and registrations will be denied as provided by law.
  • All back taxes must be paid in full before money can be applied to the list of October 1, 2006.
  • Receipts will not be mailed unless a stamped envelope is included with the payment.
  • Mail received with a USPS POSTMARK on or before AUGUST 1, 2007 is considered an ON TIME PAYMENT for the July installment.

WE DO NOT MAIL A SEPARATE BILL FOR THE JANUARY INSTALLMENT ON REAL ESTATE OR PERSONAL PROPERTY FOR A BUSINESS – THIS IS THE FULL YEAR BILL

If you are missing bills or if you have questions regarding your bill, please contact our office at 203-245-5641.
                                                                   Sincerely,
                                                                   Alma D. Carroll, CCMC
