Welcome to Madison Youth and Family Services

Madison Youth and Family Services is an agency established in 1983 by the Town of Madison. It is charged with the development and delivery of a range of services for the young people of Madison and their families.

The agency exists to foster the healthy development of the children of Madison and their families through progressive programs that offer prevention, community coordination and treatment services.

Announcements

REACH OUT program has begin "REACH OUT" is a student-organized and activated welcome/orientation/support program for students entering Daniel Hand High School from other school systems. Peer Advocates facilitate two meetings with new students before school opens, and host 8 additional meetings on Wednesday evenings during the school year. New students are encouraged to attend one or more of the Wednesday meetings, held in the DHHS Library/Media Center whether they attended the before school meetings or not. A parent/Peer Advocate/Guidance meeting will be held in November. "Reach Out" is sponsored by Madison Youth & Family Services’ Peer Advocates in collaboration with Daniel Hand High School's Department of Guidance and Counseling.

The schedule of Wednesday meetings is as follows: All meeting are held from 7:00 – 8:30 pm in the DHHS Library/Media Center

Peer Advocate Training Fall Group Applications Available
The Peer Advocate program trains interested and qualified high school applicants in groups of 14-15 to listen to and to be resources for their peers. Training consists of thirteen two-hour sessions spread over half a school year. Applications for the fall training groups are available now at Madison Youth and Family Services and in the DHHS Guidance and Counseling Office. They are due back to either place by 3:00 pm on Wednesday, September 15. Fall groups are open to Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. Two training groups will begin in late September and finish in mid to late January. Call Taffy Bowes at 203-245-5657 with any questions.
