Welcome to Madison Youth and Family Services

Madison Youth and Family Services is an agency established in 1983 by the Town of Madison. It is charged with the development and delivery of a range of services for the young people of Madison and their families.

The agency exists to foster the healthy development of the children of Madison and their families through progressive programs that offer prevention, community coordination and treatment services.

Announcements

Madison Youth & Family Services announces that it is accepting applications for the Peer Advocate training program for high school age youths who are interested in helping their peers. The program facilitates understanding, communication skills, and knowledge of resources relating to young people.

The 13 training sessions will begin in February. Any Madison youth is eligible to participate in the program. Applications are available now at Madison Youth & Family Services at 10 School Street, and at Daniel Hand High School's Guidance Office. Applications must be returned by 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, to either location. For more information, call Taffy Bowes at Madison Youth & Family Services (203-245-5657).

 


 

Peer Helpers: Applications for the December 2011 Peer Helper group are now available in the Main Office at Polson. The deadline is Thursday November 3, 2011. This group is open to all students in the 7th and 8th grade. *This application is one of several components used in selecting the Peer Helpers. Others include identification on the survey, teacher references, gender balance, grade and team balance. You will be notified by mail if you are chosen to attend. If not, please apply again for a future training.

The 13 training sessions will begin in October and will end in January. Applications will be available at Madison Youth & Family Services at 10 School Street, and at Daniel Hand High School's Guidance Office as of August 29th. Registration forms are now available for Polson’s girls group. Forms can be found in the main office or by contacting Peg Butler at Butlerp@madisonct.org, There will be an informational meeting on November 7th from 2:10- 3:00 in café B at Polson. The group runs from November 14 through the end of May.
