The Board of Selectmen is currently working on bringing three major projects to the voters of Madison for a community-based decision. These projects include the repurposing of two former public school buildings, and a comprehensive, forward looking facilities plan for Madison Public Schools.
The Academy School project involves the renovation of the building into a shared space for a Community Center and municipal offices. The Island Avenue project involves the potential sale of the property to a third party for either residential development or use as a private school. The Madison School Renewal Plan, as recommended by the Board of Education, outlines a plan to build a new Pre-K-5th grade elementary school, convert Brown school to a K-5 building, and update Polson Middle School.
Further details on each of these projects can be found by selecting a links above; and future meetings, Public Hearings and timeline information can be found on the website calendar.
