The Bauer Park, located at 257 Copse Road, was established in 1990, when Erwin Bauer gave his farm to the Town of Madison. The park has been set up for open space use, agriculture, gardens, trails and nature activities.
Rockland Preserve, located in north Madison, is an area of rounded, rocky hills, steep gray cliffs, ledges, and lovely wooded areas. Rockland Preserve is also home to Singletracks of Rockland.
The recreational resources are easy to see: playing fields for organized sports and pick-up games, a walking path along the site of the old airport runway, hiking trails in the coastal forest, a natural amphitheater overlooking the river, a new pavilion, a picnic area and a kayak launch. Salt Meadow Park is located at 1362 Boston Post Road.
