Salt Meadow Park serves two main purposes; protecting natural resources and providing recreational resources for the public. The recreational resources are easy to see: playing fields for organized sports and pick-up games, a walking path along the site of the old airport runway, hiking trails in the coastal forest, a natural amphitheater overlooking the river, a new pavilion, a picnic area and a kayak launch.
Dogs
Dogs are allowed in the parking lot and on walking trails only. Dogs must be on a leash and under the control of handler/owner.
Restricted Activities
Permits are required for:
Permits obtained at the Recreation Office, located at the Surf Club
Mon-Thurs 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Friday 8:30 a.m. - noon
Prohibited Activities
Salt Meadow Park is open year around from dawn to dusk
*During weather related events the entrance gates will remain closed to vehicles. Gates will remain closed until conditions improve enough to once again allow vehicles.
