ACADEMY COMMUNITY CENTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Thursday, January 5, 2023, 5:30 – 7:00 PM

Location: Town Campus Hammonasset Room  

  1. Call to order.
  2. Approval of minutes of Dec 29, 2022 meeting.
  3. Interface with Academy Building Committee.
    • Review, discuss, and approve the draft of our initial recommendations to the Building Committee  --- Scott.
    • Discuss timing of presenting this document to the Building Committee.
    • Discuss timing of presenting survey results to the Building Committee.   
  4. Report on community outreach efforts: Lisa.
  5. Discuss schedule and volunteers for handing out postcards at future town events and locations.
  6. Review recent town announcements about the Academy Survey.
  7. Review and discuss Academy Public Survey results to date: John. Discuss “consumable public version” of the survey results, and how to present our committee’s conclusions. 
  8. Consider adding a fourth activity group to interview:  building features needed for meeting/community/social space; adult education; small business incubator; technology space; youth social space.  
  9. Discuss possible date for presentation of survey results to the Board of Selectmen.
  10. Other business.
