Here’s an UPDATE on the COASTAL Storm System that we have been watching this week.
The latest information has shown a few changes from this morning’s forecast.
We now expect the snow to start a few hours earlier, as the low pressure system is moving a bit faster than originally thought.
In addition to the earlier start time, the data has indicated a slight northward shift with the heaviest snow.
However, it still appears that the worst of the storm should stay just to the South.
There remains very low confidence regarding snow totals, as a slight (less than 20 mile) shift in the storm’s path could have DRASTIC implications on the amounts we eventually receive either way.
Regardless of final snowfall amounts, strong northeast winds are expected to create a good deal of blowing and drifting snow.
Minor to moderate coastal flooding will occur along the coastline Saturday night and Sunday.
Town crews are ready to respond to whatever we end up with.
If we do get the larger amount of snow Saturday afternoon, I would ask that people stay off the roads and let the plows do their job.
As always, there is no overnight parking on any street in Madison.
In an emergency, call 9-1-1. If you need help and it is not an emergency, you can call the Madison Police at 203-245-2721 or a neighbor or friend.
Thank you and stay warm!
