East Shore Health Department Hosting Two Flu Clinics
As the influenza season nears its peak, the East Shore District Health Department will be coordinating two flu clinics in the coming week. On Monday, January 22nd between 3 and 5pm and Saturday, January 27th, between 10 and 12pm. Both will be held at the East Shore District Health Department (ESDHD), 688 East Main St (Orchard Research Park), Branford. ESDHD serves the town of Branford, North Branford and East Haven. ESDHD, in conjunction with Guilford and Madison Health Departments, invite all community members from the shoreline can come to 688 East Main St (Orchard Research Park), Branford and receive a flu vaccination.
The clinic will be staffed by our dynamic health department nurses and staff.
With all of the talk of serious and deadly diseases that have flooded the media in the last month, it is more important than ever that we are able to provide residents along the shoreline as many opportunities to receive the flu vaccine.
- Vaccinations will be provided by Connecticut State licensed nurses.
- Vaccinations are FREE. We ask that residents with insurance, however, please have your insurance card with you or make a copy for us when you come to the clinic.
- Children younger than 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent.
Other important steps you can take to fight the flu this season:
- Wash your hands and when soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
- Stay home if you are sick
- Take anti-viral drugs if your doctor prescribes them
