The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on I-95 North and South between Branford and Madison. 

The project consists of structural steel repairs on Bridge #’s: 00189 (Cherry Hill Rd.); 00197 (Featherbed Ln.); 00199 (Leetes Island Rd.); 00218 (SSR 450). This project is scheduled to begin on the evening of Monday, July 8, 2019, ending the evening of Tuesday July 23, 2019.

The work is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2019 bridge maintenance program to support state forces with bridge repairs and is being performed by Hammonasset Construction.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on I-95 North and South between Exit 53 (Short Beach) and Exit 63 (Rt.81 Clinton).  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.  (Monday through Thursday evenings).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
