[ARCHIVED] Election Day Information

Voting Information

November 2, 2020

Dear Residents,

I wanted to reach out and provide a quick reminder that tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3rd is Election Day.  If you choose to vote in person at the polls, please note that District 1 voting has been moved from the Senior Center to Polson Middle School (the old Hand high school) which is located at 302 Green Hill Road.  District 2 voting will take place, as in previous years, at Brown Intermediate School at 980 Durham Road.  Election Day polling locations have been modified for social distancing and will stay open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If you have received an absentee ballot and still intend to vote this way rather than in-person, you must place the completed ballot into the secure drop box located outside of Town Hall at the Town Campus (in the circle driveway across from the gym – follow the signs as you come down the driveway). It must be returned before 8 p.m. tomorrow night (November 3rd) in order to be accepted for processing.

If you are not registered but want to register and vote on election day, please visit the Senior Center tomorrow between the hours of 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. for election day registration. No other voting will occur at this location. Please bring proof of identity and residence.

Given the high volume of absentee ballots submitted this year, the Secretary of State has allowed additional time to process absentee ballots. Therefore, the Town Clerk may not have final election results after the polls close on election night.  Please check the Town of Madison’s homepage for the most up to date information as official results become available.

Finally, I want to assure all our residents that the Town is taking every precaution necessary to ensure your safety and security when voting in-person at the polls.  Let your voice be heard by exercising your right to vote no matter which method you choose.

Stay safe and healthy Madison.

Peggy Lyons
First Selectwoman
