[ARCHIVED] Senior Vaccine Update

Senior Vaccine Update

Good evening, this is First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons with an important vaccine update for Madison Seniors.   This Thursday, January 28th, the Town will be hosting a vaccine clinic at the Madison Town Gym for people 75 years or older.  The clinic will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on an appointment only basis.  Enrollment for the Madison clinic will be open to the public through the state’s Vaccine Management System (VAMS) starting at noon tomorrow, Monday, January 25th. You must be registered in the VAMS system in order to book an appointment. Due to limited vaccine supplies, please do not show up at the vaccination clinic unless you have an appointment.  Please note: due to overwhelming demand on the appointment system, there may be a delay in displaying the Madison clinic.  If the delay occurs, please continue to check approximately every 30 minutes.

If you are not registered in the VAMS system, please visit ct.gov/covidvaccine or call Connecticut’s COVID Vaccine Appointment Assistance Line at (877) 918-2224.  If you still have difficulties registering in VAMS, the Madison Senior Center will provide in person registration assistance on an appointment only basis for those 75 years and older.  Please contact the Senior Center at (203) 245–5627 for more information.

If you need transportation, please contact 9 Town Transit at 860-443-1655 for assistance to vaccine clinics in Madison as well as Clinton, Chester, Essex, East Haddam, Deep River, Haddam, Killingworth, Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, Guilford or Middletown. The Madison Senior Center also intends to offer transportation to vaccine clinics in the coming weeks. More details will be forthcoming.

I want to assure residents that although vaccine supplies are limited right now, there will be opportunities for everyone to eventually get vaccinated. We are planning to offer a vaccine clinic in Madison weekly as long as supplies are available.  However, right now we continue to encourage eligible seniors to book any available appointment in VAMS, rather than waiting for a local clinic.

Thank you.
