As everyone is aware, the snow this afternoon is turning out to be heavier than anticipated. Snowfall forecasts have been increased in our area and a winter weather advisory is in effect for the entire state.  Road conditions are becoming hazardous. Please avoid all unnecessary travel this afternoon and throughout the evening to allow Town public works vehicles to clear streets. We have already seen a number of accidents on the roads.

The snow is expected to taper down to intermittent levels for a few hours this evening before becoming steady again by midnight across most of the state.   Low temperatures are forecast to hold in the upper 20’s with light northeast winds gusting to 15 MPH at times.  Light snow is expected during most of Friday until the evening.  Total snowfall accumulations are forecasted to be in the range of 4” – 6” throughout the state.

I also want to remind residents that there is no overnight parking on any state or town roads in order to keep the streets cleared for plowing.
