Noreen Kokoruda
I want to acknowledge the recent passing of Board of Selectmen member and former State Representative Noreen Kokoruda on December 21, 2022. An ardent public servant until her final days, Noreen leaves a lasting legacy of compassion, service and devotion to others, including her friends, family and the entire Madison community she served for over 40 years. Volunteers Needed for Town Committees & Commissions
A we enter the new year, I encourage everyone to consider giving back to our great Town by volunteering for a Town board or commission. Madison has over 60 boards and commissions run by resident volunteers who help make our community such a great place to live. The Town currently has vacancies on several important boards and commissions, including Planning & Zoning, Beach & Recreation, Conservation, Inland Wetlands Agency, and Senior Citizens, among others. Please consider dedicating some of your volunteer time to Town service. If you are interested in learning more about vacancies or the application process please visit the town website. Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes
The second installment of tax on the 2021 Grand List was due January 1, 2023. The last day to pay the January 1, 2023 installment without penalty is February 1, 2023. The tax office is accepting payments in person, by mail, and through the tax collector’s drop box outside Town Campus. Tax bills are also viewable and payable online. Academy Community Center Survey
A reminder that the Academy Community Center Advisory Committee is conducting a survey of Town residents to collect community feedback on potential uses for the facility that will satisfy needs that are currently unmet or underserved by existing town facilities and services. Your feedback is a critical piece of ensuring that the redevelopment of the site includes space that is appropriately configured to best serve those community needs. Please take a moment to provide your valuable input and helping to improve our community! This survey will close on January 13, 2023.
Madison Ambulance Food Drive
During the month of January, Madison Emergency Medical Services will be collecting donations for the Madison Food Pantry. Donations can include canned goods, dry goods, and other non-perishable items. Donations can be dropped off in the bin in front of the Ambulance garage at 9 Old Route 97 in Madison. New Town Hall Office Hours for 2023
Effective January 1, 2023, offices at the Madison Town Campus will have new Public Hours of Operation. Offices will be open to the public Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
