Annual Town Meeting
Please join the Board of Selectmen on Wednesday, February 1 at 6:00 p.m. in person at the Madison Town Campus or via zoom for the Annual Town Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the state of the Town, review the Five Year-Capital Plan and receive the annual financial reports. ARPA Property Improvement Grant Program
The Town is pleased to announce a new Property Improvement Grant Program for Madison businesses. Grants up to $2,500 in reimbursable expenses are available to reimburse a business for minor improvement costs associated with the rehabilitation of a commercial facade, including but not limited to facade repairs, signage, awnings or canopies, exterior lighting, handicap accessibility and facade landscaping. This grant program is being funded through Madison’s grant award from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Revaluation 2023
The Town of Madison has contracted with Vision Government Solutions, Inc. to complete the town-wide revaluation of all real property effective for the October 1, 2023 Grand List as required by State Statute. Data Collectors from Vision will be conducting visits of all properties starting Tuesday, January 17th. The Data Collectors will be wearing identification badges and their names and vehicles are listed with the Madison Police Department and Assessor’s Office. Homeowners are encouraged to ask for identification prior to admitting anyone on/into the premises. For more information please visit the Town of Madison website www.madisonct.org/revaluation
Volunteers Needed for Town Committees & Commissions
A we enter the new year, I encourage everyone to consider giving back to our great Town by volunteering for a Town board or commission. Madison has over 60 boards and commissions run by resident volunteers who help make our community such a great place to live. The Town currently has vacancies on several important boards and commissions, including Planning & Zoning, Beach & Recreation, Conservation, Inland Wetlands Agency, and Senior Citizens, among others. Please consider dedicating some of your volunteer time to Town service. Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes
A reminder that the second installment of tax on the 2021 Grand List was due January 1, 2023. The last day to pay the January 1, 2023 installment without penalty is February 1, 2023. The tax office is accepting payments in person, by mail, and through the tax collector’s drop box outside Town Campus. Tax bills are also viewable and payable online.
Madison Ambulance Food Drive
During the month of January, Madison Emergency Medical Services will be collecting donations for the Madison Food Pantry. Donations can include canned goods, dry goods, and other non-perishable items. Donations can be dropped off in the bin in front of the Ambulance garage at 9 Old Route 97 in Madison. New Town Hall Office Hours for 2023
A reminder that effective January 1, 2023, offices at the Madison Town Campus will have new Public Hours of Operation. Offices will be open to the public Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Please note that some staff will be working inside the building outside of these public hours and are unable to provide in person services.
