We are very excited to announce the launch of our Strategic Plan Survey! Budget Referendum on May 16
A reminder that the Annual Budget Referendum will be held this Tuesday, May 16, 2023. Details on the proposed Budget is available at www.madisonct.org/budget. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. District 1 voting will be at Polson Middle School, 302 Green Hill Road and District 2 voting will be at Brown Intermediate School, 980 Durham Rd. Absentee ballots are now available in the Town Clerk’s office. Information on getting an absentee ballot or other information on voting can be found by contacting the Town Clerk at 203-245-5672; or by visiting the Town Clerk’s webpage www.madisonct.org/vote
Dog Park Grand Opening & Art in the Park
Next Saturday, May 20th will be a big day at Salt Meadow Park. The Grand Opening of the Dog Park will take place from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., featuring vendors, giveaways and a ribbon cutting. Bring your four legged friends and enjoy a fun filled day at Salt Meadow. The 2nd Annual Salt Meadow Art in the Park event will also run from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., and showcase local artists and their wares.
Celebrate World Bee Day at Bauer Park
Next Saturday, May 20th, the Garden Club of Madison invites you to celebrate World Bee Day from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., at beautiful Bauer Park. Bee Keepers will introduce you to these wonderful creatures and showcase the Bauer Bee Hives, “Sunflower” and” Hyacinth”.
Bike Rodeo: Kids Open Parking Lot Bike Event
Next Saturday, May 20th, the Madison Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee invite families with small children to participate in an Open Parking Lot Bike Event at Ryerson Elementary School from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. A small course will be set up to help build turning and stopping skills. The committee will check your helmet and look over your bike as well to get you in perfect shape for the summer! Helmets are required for all.
Memorial Day
The Town, in partnership with the American Legion and VFW, will be honoring our fallen veterans on Monday, May 29th, with our Memorial Day Parade followed by a remembrance ceremony on the Town Green. The Parade will step off at 10 a.m. and start at the intersection of Samson Rock Drive and the Boston Post Road, then proceed west on the Boston Post Road through the downtown area, concluding with a ceremony at the Town Green. Note that this will create traffic detours and road closures during the event.
Summer 2023 Beach Stickers
Beach parking stickers for residents are now available for purchase online, through the mail, or in person at the Beach & Rec office at the Surf Club. A reminder that parking stickers or daily parking passes will be required at all three Town beaches starting Memorial Day on weekends only, and seven days a week starting on Monday, June 19th through Labor Day. Gate guards and lifeguards will only be staffed on weekends through mid-June due to limited staffing availability. Please visit the Town website for more information on pricing and ways to purchase a sticker.
Geographic Information System
The Assessor's website has been updated with a link to AxisGIS. The Geographic Information System (GIS) provides access to geographic and tax record information maintained by the Town of Madison, Connecticut and CAI Technologies. For your convenience a quick link is also posted to the bottom of the town website homepage.
