Memorial Day Weekend Parade
The Town, in partnership with the American Legion and VFW, will be honoring our fallen veterans this Monday, May 29th, with our Memorial Day Parade followed by a remembrance ceremony on the Town Green. The Parade will step off at 10 a.m. and start at the intersection of Samson Rock Drive and the Boston Post Road, then proceed west on the Boston Post Road through the downtown area, concluding with a ceremony at the Town Green. Note that this will create traffic detours and road closures during the event.
Town Strategic Plan Activities
Your voice is a very important part of this strategic planning process, and your unique perspective and feedback will help shape the future of the Town of Madison. Please take the Strategic Plan survey at your convenience – it will be open until June 15. It’s a short, 10-minute survey so you can tell us what you think.
We also encourage residents to attend our Strategic Plan Community Visioning Session on Tuesday, June 6th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Madison Senior Center. Come share your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions on ways to preserve and improve Madison’s quality of life for all our residents! Refreshments will be served and a zoom link will be available for those wishing to participate remotely.
For more information about the Strategic Planning process and to keep up to date on meetings relating to this effort, check out our webpage dedicated to this initiative: www.madisonct.org/strategicplan

Dog Park Grand Opening Rescheduled
Due to inclement weather, the Grand Opening of the Dog Park has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 3 at 1:00 p.m., featuring vendors, giveaways and a ribbon cutting. Bring your four legged friends and enjoy a fun filled day at Salt Meadow. Meanwhile the park is open for use so please enjoy the new facility!
And finally, I want to alert residents that Town Offices will be closing at noon on Thursday, June 8th for an employee event. Please plan ahead for any service needs for that day.
As we enter this holiday weekend, please take a moment to remember those who heroically answered a call for duty to serve in our military with bravery and honor, but tragically lost their lives to protect us. We are grateful for their service, along with the service of the many men and women today who are serving our nation in the military during these very challenging times.
Have a great holiday weekend Madison!
