The first installment of tax on the 2022 Grand List was due July 1, 2023. The last day to pay the July 1, 2023 installment without penalty is August 1, 2023 (US Postmark). Payments not bearing a US Postmark must be received by 4:30 p.m. on August 1, 2023 to avoid interest, per CT Statute 12-146.  

• The tax office is accepting payments in person, by mail, and through the Tax Payment Drop Box (located on the exterior wall of the Tax Collector’s Office). Town Hall office hours are Monday - Thursday 8:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m., Friday 8:30 a.m. - noon.  
• M&T Bank offers in-branch tax payment processing during the month of July for current tax bills.  The original tax bill must be provided at time of processing. 
• To pay by credit, debit or electronic check visit www.madisonct.org/taxpayments or to pay by phone call 855-857-3353. We do not take credit or debit cards at the office. Convenience fees do apply.
