End of Summer Season

As we enter the Labor Day Weekend, the Town can no longer fully staff our beach facilities, including lifeguards, due to our summer staff returning to school. Please be mindful when attending our beaches, especially with children, that lifeguards will not be on duty. However, we will continue to have patrol and gate monitors in place through Labor Day. After Labor Day weekend, we will no longer be staffing gate guards and sporting activities will ramp up at the Surf Club and other athletic fields around town.

Back to School

Welcome back to our Madison Public School teachers, administrators, parents, and most importantly our students, who started school earlier this week. I want to wish you a healthy, happy and productive school year. For more information including the 2023-2024 calendar and more, please visit the district's Back to School page. Also note that back to school means additional bus and car traffic throughout town. Please stop when school buses are loading and unloading children - do not try and go around them when they are at a full stop.

Madison Salutes Our Heroes

The Madison Exchange Club will host a commemorative event this September on the Madison Green. This event will be a display of 300 dedicated flags and is a reverent tribute which strives to unite the country in the service of others. The Opening Ceremony will be held on Saturday September 2nd at 5:00 p.m. on the Town Green. For more information or if you are interested in purchasing a flag, please visit the Exchange Club website.

September 11th Remembrance Ceremony

To honor those men and women lost on September 11, 2001, and to pay tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country, the Town will be holding its annual remembrance ceremony on the Town Green on Monday, September 11th at 5:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Summer Concert Options

  • Please join us tonight, Friday, September 1st at Salt Meadow Park for a free concert featuring local act Almost The Whole Damn Family. Concert begins at 6 p.m. For more information on the dates and line-up for the summer, please visit the Salt Meadow Park website.
  • Also, please join us next Sunday, September 10 at 6:00 p.m., on the Town Green for a free concert featuring the Backstage Pass. This is the last Concert on the Green for the season.

Madison Jaycee’s Dave Parcells Triathlon

The Triathlon will take place Saturday, September 9th at 7:00 a.m., at the Surf Club. The race includes a .5 mile swim in Long Island Sound, a 13 mile bike through the back roads of Madison, and a 3 mile run along the beautiful Madison shore. For more information on the event please visit the Jaycee's website. Please be aware of traffic closures in the area of Surf Club Road.

CT Energy Assistance Program Applications

Please contact the Senior Center at 203-245-5627 to check for eligibility. Adults and families can contact Madison Youth and Family Services for eligibility assistance at 203-245-5645.

And please remember, Town Offices will be closed on Monday, September 4th in observance of Labor Day.

Have a great holiday weekend Madison!
